Black and white decor on its own may look dull, but add a splash of red and suddenly you have a complete composition. This color scheme can be applied to any room in your home as long as you follow a few basic principles. Some of the rooms below successfully pull off this bold and sometimes tricky color scheme, while others, not so much.

This design takes the black, white and red concept to the extreme, obviously taking inspiration from the classic checkerboard. Don’t try to perfectly balance black and white and red around the room; one shade should stand out among the others. (Credit)
